This is an Oriental Region species found in moist broadleaf forests (Guglielmone
<emphasis id="B900EAC0FFCAFFE51A23DE10FBD1FC5F" box="[1096,1147,871,896]" italics="true" pageId="18" pageNumber="19">et al</emphasis>
. 2014). The adults infest wild pigs (
<emphasis id="B900EAC0FFCAFFE51F7BDEF4FE9CFC7B" box="[272,310,909,932]" italics="true" pageId="18" pageNumber="19">Sus</emphasis>
spp.), with occasional records from humans, Indian rhinoceros, domestic pigs and python. Nymphs occur on squirrels, small and large carnivores, porcupine, other rodents, monkeys and wild hens (
