). In regard the chemical composition of the VOs of this species, the inflorescences and leaves of the first sample (Canela/05, April) showed very similar chemical compositions with a predominance of hydrocarbon monoterpenes (56.858.9%), especially α- pinene (7.011.6%), β- pinene (14.924.1%), limonene (12.213.1%), and (E)-β- ocimene (13.32.3%). In the sesquiterpene fraction, three main compounds were identified in the flowering period: The hydrocarbon sesquiterpenes β- caryophyllene, germacrene D, and bicyclogermacrene. However, the second sampling in the vegetative stage (Viamao/05, October) presented a very different quantitative pattern, in which oxygenated sesquiterpenes (64.1%), spathulenol (22.6%), caryophyllene oxide (7.0%), and α- cadinol (12.0%) were observed.
