Length 1 line.-Pale rufo-testaceous, very smooth and shining, with a rufo-fuscous band on the first segment of the abdomen, the basal and apical margins pale. Head rather wider than the thorax or abdomen, the thorax strangulated in the middle, the metathorax without spines. The first node of the petiole compressed, its upper margin rounded; the second node large and globular, much larger than is usual in the genus.</paragraph>

<paragraph id="C47333B0134EEABE664EEB6A85EAEB24" pageId="131" pageNumber="131">Female. Length 1 3/4 line.-Rather darker red than the worker: the thorax oblong-ovate; the wings hyaline and beautifully iridescent; the nodes of the petiole of the same relative proportions as in the workers; abdomen oblong-ovate, rufo-fuscous, with the base and the apical margins of the segments pale rufo-testaceous.</paragraph>

<paragraph id="0127FCCA6EC69F568A886F0F47891E69" pageId="131" pageNumber="131">Male. Length 1 1/4 line.-Jet-black, with the antennae and legs pale testaceous; wings clear hyaline and beautifully iridescent.</paragraph>
