. The finding of

of this species at the Tahiti Iti beach locality was surprising as the other specimens are all associated with higher elevation freshwater riparian habitats. But also collected at this beach in our coral rubble sweeps were specimens of an as yet undetermined

. The latter specimens have been sent to Doug Craig in hopes he can identify them as he said he never expected that there would be beach simuliids in Tahiti (we found other beach simuliids at other localities so this collection is not an anomaly).
