Genus

is unique in having scaled caudal filaments with special arrangements of stout bristles and finer setae in the proximal portion; distal portion segments bear longer, stiffer setae and at articulations short bristles alternate with fine

. These characters are similarly expressed in several

spp. from Taiwan (
