Despite the relative shortage of the material, two notable

of variation were detected within it. The bulk of the

material which originated from a single sample [Pisa Range, snowbank,
<specimenCount id="9D06FD56B25D720E52CFFA3E17347A90" box="[1191,1343,1461,1486]" pageId="4" pageNumber="126" type="generic">10 specimens</specimenCount>
in total] lacks two
<emphasis id="B974EACDB25D720E5764FA5213167AAF" box="[268,285,1498,1521]" italics="true" pageId="4" pageNumber="126">B</emphasis>
-setae on
<emphasis id="B974EACDB25D720E57E4FA5213AB7AAF" box="[396,416,1498,1521]" italics="true" pageId="4" pageNumber="126">Ti</emphasis>
.3, whereas three other specimens from other soil cores possess 6 setae in the
<emphasis id="B974EACDB25D720E5348FA52173A7AAF" box="[1312,1329,1498,1521]" italics="true" pageId="4" pageNumber="126">B</emphasis>
-whorl of
<emphasis id="B974EACDB25D720E56FFFA7612A0794B" box="[151,171,1534,1557]" italics="true" pageId="4" pageNumber="126">Ti</emphasis>
.3, the latter is more common condition for Poduromorpha. The number of tibiotarsal setae for any species is normally considered stable.

Apart from this, one female among the
<typeStatus id="54BB887DB25D720E54EAF9CE10B67900" box="[642,701,1606,1630]" pageId="4" pageNumber="126">types</typeStatus>
was characterised by a clearly reduced furca with shortened dens bearing only two setae and small mucro almost lacking tooth on outer lamella. This condition appears to correlate with less sclerotized mouthparts, more flattened buccal cone, and shortened sensilla on
<emphasis id="B974EACDB25D720E5207F906169D79FB" box="[1135,1174,1678,1701]" italics="true" pageId="4" pageNumber="126">Ant</emphasis>
.4, as well as almost all setae shortened, including tibiotarsal ones. Similar although less pronounced modifications were found in the single juvenile available (Old Mans Range, cushionfield). Most probably it is the result of ecomorphosis as understood by
