Immediately recognisable by the unusual sculpture of the propodeum, with a broad area superomedia joined to the area petiolaris, completely lacking costulae, and uniformly granulate throughout. The colour of the metasoma is also distinctive, with the rather elongate second tergite entirely black, and the other tergites dark in the centre with a broad orange wash laterally.
