Apparent body length (ABL) 15-17 mm; similar in size, body proportions, and surface sculpturing to smaller individuals of
<taxonomicName class="Insecta" family="Carabidae" genus="Cypholoba" higherTaxonomySource="CoL" kingdom="Animalia" lsidName="Cypholoba gracilis" order="Coleoptera" pageId="11" pageNumber="34" phylum="Arthropoda" rank="species" species="gracilis">Cypholoba gracilis</taxonomicName>
but easily separated from that species by its patterned elytral pubescence (Fig. 19) and smaller body size (adults of all subspecies of
<taxonomicName class="Insecta" family="Carabidae" genus="Cypholoba" higherTaxonomySource="CoL" kingdom="Animalia" lsidName="Cypholoba gracilis" order="Coleoptera" pageId="11" pageNumber="34" phylum="Arthropoda" rank="species" species="gracilis">Cypholoba gracilis</taxonomicName>
are 17-22 mm in ABL). Adults are also superficially similar to those of species in the genus

Chaudoir but in species of that genus the pronotum is broadly rounded and markedly convex (
