The subgenus

is confined to the Palaearctic region. Its distributional range is split into three widely separate areas: i) southern

and Maghreb, ii)
<collectingCountry box="[720,799,259,283]" name="Greece" pageId="2" pageNumber="163">Greece</collectingCountry>
eastwards to

and southwards to the Levant, and iii) southeastern Central Asia. It contains nine species assigned below to three species groups, which are based on male characters only due to the close similarity among females of the
