The distribution of

</taxonomicName>
is restricted to Mauritius and Reunion islands (Fig.

). In these islands, this species occupies primary and disturbed rainforest habitats, where workers have been found foraging on the ground and on lower vegetation and nest sites have been located in rotten logs, in the ground, under stones, and in tree trunks.

samples in the same cluster shown by the dendrogram of multivariate morphometric analysis is corroborated by the cumulative LDA at 100% identification success. This result is congruent with that of the qualitative morphology-based study.
