Head-body 70-78 mm (tailless), ear 19-20 mm, hindfoot 10-8-12-3 mm, forearm 45-2-46-8 mm; weight 16-20 g. The

Broad-nosed Bat is medium-sized. Dorsal fur is bright blackish brown; ventral fur is dense, pale brown and gray; and dorsal and ventral hairs have three bands (individual dorsal hairs: 8-10 mm, bases dark brown, poorly differentiated from tips). Supraocular and subocular facial stripes are the same color (whitish hairs with dusky tips). Dorsal stripe is very sharply defined and brighter than facial stripes. Proximal one-half of forearm and to a lesser extent dorsal parts of legs are densely covered with long hairs. Tail membrane is very short, hairy on both surfaces, with U-shaped margin densely fringed with long dark hairs. I' are short, with straight outer edges, convergent, and distally in contact. P* have large posterocingular cusps; M' metastyle is present, and protocone is moderately developed. Stylid cuspulid is absent on anterior and posterior cristid of P,.
