This second of the species triplet with anterior and posterior pronotal processes is unique in the absence of a lateral carina joining the processes, the pronotum fused to proepipleuron without any evidence of the shared suture (Fig.

). The pronotal processes are both columnar, the anterior process half the height of the posterior, and both topped with a tuft of approximately nine club-shaped setae. The elytral intervals are distorted in this species, with the second interval absent basally due to convergence of the sutural and third intervals. Conversely, the fourth interval appears split basally, resulting in the highly carinate fifth interval maintaining its fifth place position relative to the inner intervals throughout its length. The less convex sixth interval lies just laterad the carinate fifth interval, with the seventh interval very low and in part confused with the sequence of lateral elytral setae. The eyes of these beetles are very small in diameter, though slightly convex, with eight ommatidia horizontally across the diameter: the same ommatidial count as
