species of the genus is known to date only from the Usambara and Uluguru Mountains of the Eastern Arc Mountains in

. Despite there being only few records of this species, the single specimen from the Mbizi Mountains in the southern part of the Albertine Rift in
<collectingCountry id="0F97766DFFFC1B07846FDB09FB5B9F2C" box="[1051,1152,1622,1648]" name="Tanzania" pageId="2" pageNumber="216">Tanzania</collectingCountry>
is treated with caution as it lies far from the main range of the species which seems to inhabit the forested lower slopes of the mountains in eastern
<collectingCountry id="0F97766DFFFC1B078098DBC1FE8F9FE4" box="[236,340,1694,1720]" name="Tanzania" pageId="2" pageNumber="216">Tanzania</collectingCountry>
. Furthermore, there are several examples of mislabelled specimens in the Philippe Darge collection from Mbizi with their correct locality being Uluguru, and vice versa (pers. comm. H. Takano; Takano &amp; Bashford in prep.). It is also interesting to note that in the original description of the genus,
