The Fort Ternan collection includes two or three taxa that can be assigned to

. Exactly how the material is to be assigned between these putative taxa is a complicated issue. There is great morphological variability despite the small sample, and most specimens are isolated teeth. Comparisons with other taxa are also difficult, because these are either separated by a large temporal gap, or by considerable geographic distance, or both. Hence, some of the identifications below may be subject to revision in the future, as more material of small middle Miocene carnivorans becomes available.
