outlined the taxonomic history of the genus and contested Bigelow’s view of the growth direction of the radial canals. Kramp thinks that the branching radial canals arise indeed through branching during ontogeny and he thus has an argument to maintain the genus. The diminution of the canal width towards the periphery is a good evidence to support this view.
