Perennial herb, rhizome stem inconspicuous, 4-10 mm long, 3-4 mm in diam. Leaves 8-14, in basal rosette; petiole cylindric, 1-5 cm long, 2-3 mm in diam., sparsely to densely curly brown pubescent; leaf blade green to dark green, ovate to broadly elliptic, 3.0-5.5
