Herbs scapose annuals.

Flowers actinomorphic; sepals spreading or ascending, base of lateral pair not saccate; petals white, claw obscure or undifferentiated from blade; filaments slender at base; pollen 3-colpate; ovules 4-18. Fruits dehiscent, unsegmented silicles, orbicular and strongly latiseptate or obovoid to ellipsoid and slightly angustiseptate; septum complete; styles minute or absent; stigma entire. Seeds biseriate, broadly winged and accumbent, or wingless and incumbent.
