Cells are Gram-staining-negative, non-flagellated and coccus shaped. Colonies are circular, convex, smooth, wet and pale red colored after 3 days of incubation at 30℃ on R2A. Negative for nitrate reduction, indole production, glucose fermentation, esculin hydrolysis, and gelatinase, arginine dihydrolase, urease, and
<emphasis id="A5EDEABD8349FFE1FB0BB3FCA3FDF1AD" box="[1173,1188,697,721]" italics="true" pageId="4" pageNumber="16">β</emphasis>
-galactosidase activities. D- Mannitol,
<emphasis id="A5EDEABD8349FFE1FC44B39FA4B2F18D" box="[986,1003,730,753]" italics="true" pageId="4" pageNumber="16">N</emphasis>
-acetylglucosamine, and potassium gluconate are utilized. Does not utilize D- glucose, L- arabinose, D- mannose, D- maltose, capric acid, adipic acid, malic acid, trisodium citrate, and phenylacetic acid. Strain HMF5336 (
