The genus

is characterised within Pissodini by the combination of the following traits: 1) small body size (
<quantity id="557416B0FFEFFFF4FEACFE100AE2FE74" box="[272,412,438,465]" metricMagnitude="-3" metricUnit="m" metricValue="2.3" metricValueMax="2.5" metricValueMin="2.1" pageId="4" pageNumber="449" unit="mm" value="2.3" valueMax="2.5" valueMin="2.1">2.12.5 mm</quantity>
); 2) procoxae separated by at least their diameter; 3) abdominal process between metacoxae much broader than coxal width; 4) robust rostrum, relatively short (not longer than 1.1x pronotal length; 5) eyes below level of rostrum; 6) eyes in lateral view close to front margin of pronotum, width of temple less than the diameter of the eye; 7) antennal funicle 7-segmented with stout first segment; 8) scutellum pentagonal; 9) elytra, pronotum, part of rostrum and legs set with rather long, spatulate, raised scales; 10) hind wings present; 11) suture between first two ventrites indistinct; 12) femora edentate; 13) tibiae all uncinate at outer angle; 14) 3rd tarsal segment bilobed.
