At the surface there is a palisade of predominantly oxeas of longer and smaller sizes, along with some anatriaenes and protriaenes. From among this palisade, bundles of protriaenes protrude far beyond the surface, thus causing the sponges to be quite bristly. The choanosomal skeleton is made up of subectosomal bundles of megascleres of various
