COMMENTS: In the original description, Hartert gave Scullys number 738 for the
<typeStatus box="[667,769,213,235]" pageId="70" pageNumber="70">holotype</typeStatus>
but did not mention additional specimens. Later, Hartert (1919: 157) called attention to the earlier introduction of the name
<emphasis box="[739,864,301,324]" italics="true" pageId="70" pageNumber="70">montanella</emphasis>
Hume, 1873, which applied to his form.

J. Scully and J. Biddulph collected together and separately in Gilgit and in their reports on their collections, they referred to this form as

). Biddulph did not obtain this species, but Scully, at a slightly later date, obtained
