This species ranges from Maine (Dearborn and Donahue 1993: 5) to central Iowa (

(Nicolay and Weiss 1934: 201) and southwestern Georgia (Fattig 1949: 24), west to northeastern Kansas (Popenoe 1877: 23). The record from
<normalizedToken originalValue="“Minnesota”">&quot;Minnesota&quot;</normalizedToken>
(Bousquet and Larochelle 1993: 174) needs confirmation. Fossil remnants from a Plio-Pleistocene sequence have been unearthed in northwestern Greenland (
