<paragraph pageId="13" pageNumber="14">Unmistakable, bird dropping-like white and brown coloration, white ground color combined with rounded forewings is unique to this genus.</paragraph>

, but was placed in

based on morphology due to the presence of all apomorphies of the subfamily. Furthermore, the shape of the uncus in
<taxonomicName class="Insecta" family="Mimallonidae" genus="Tostallo" higherTaxonomySource="GBIF" kingdom="Animalia" lsidName="Tostallo" order="Lepidoptera" pageId="13" pageNumber="14" phylum="Arthropoda" rank="genus">Tostallo</taxonomicName>
is nearly identical those of some
<taxonomicName class="Insecta" family="Mimallonidae" genus="Mimallo" higherTaxonomySource="CoL" kingdom="Animalia" lsidName="Mimallo" order="Lepidoptera" pageId="13" pageNumber="14" phylum="Arthropoda" rank="genus">Mimallo</taxonomicName>
and
<taxonomicName class="Insecta" family="Mimallonidae" genus="Eadmuna" higherTaxonomySource="CoL" kingdom="Animalia" lsidName="Eadmuna" order="Lepidoptera" pageId="13" pageNumber="14" phylum="Arthropoda" rank="genus">Eadmuna</taxonomicName>
, and the transtilla/valva apodeme configuration is similar to this structure these other genera as well. Our morphological phylogenetic analyses, except the unconstrained ML analysis, robustly support the inclusion of

<taxonomicName lsidName="" pageId="13" pageNumber="14" rank="subfamily" subfamily="Mimalloninae">Mimalloninae</taxonomicName>
, and we consider this evidence to confirm the subfamily placement of this unique genus. Ongoing molecular phylogenetics of
<taxonomicName family="Mimallonidae" lsidName="" pageId="13" pageNumber="14" rank="family">Mimallonidae</taxonomicName>
, which include
<taxonomicName class="Insecta" family="Mimallonidae" genus="Tostallo" higherTaxonomySource="GBIF" kingdom="Animalia" lsidName="Tostallo" order="Lepidoptera" pageId="13" pageNumber="14" phylum="Arthropoda" rank="genus">Tostallo</taxonomicName>
, support the placement of this genus in
