<taxonomicName class="Insecta" family="Cerambycidae" genus="Dorcadion" higherTaxonomySource="CoL" kingdom="Animalia" lsidName="Dorcadion gebleri" order="Coleoptera" pageId="29" pageNumber="88" phylum="Arthropoda" rank="subSpecies" species="gebleri" subSpecies="lukhtanovi">Dorcadion gebleri lukhtanovi</taxonomicName>
is known from several localities eastwards from Lake Zaysan in northeastern Kazakhstan (
<bibRefCitation pageId="29" pageNumber="88">Toropov and Milko 2013</bibRefCitation>
). It occurs in the Kurchum Mountain ridge and in the surrounding foothill area (
<bibRefCitation author="Danilevsky, ML" journalOrPublisher="Schwanfelder Coleopterologische Mitteilungen" pageId="47" pageNumber="106" pagination="1 - 8" title="A revue of subspecific structure of Dorcadion (Compsodorcadion) gebleri Kraatz 1873 (Coleoptera, Cerambycidae) with description of two new subspecies Coleoptera." volume="21" year="1996 a">Danilevsky 1996a</bibRefCitation>
). The larvae probably feed on the roots of
<taxonomicName genus="Achnatherium" lsidName="Achnatherium" pageId="29" pageNumber="88" rank="genus">Achnatherium</taxonomicName>
spp. The imagines are active from the end of April to May and only sometimes can be observed in June (
<bibRefCitation pageId="29" pageNumber="88">Toropov and Milko 2013</bibRefCitation>
). According to

, this taxon seems to be a transitional form between
