The species is named after my good friend and teacher, Leslie H. Harris, from the Los Angeles Museum, in recognition of her enormous experience working on polychaetes and to acknowledge her and her husbands, David Ocker, generosity towards me and several of my colleagues, and particularly as she collected some of the specimens employed for this description.
