This species occurs in mature wet forest leaf litter. It is most abundant in the lowlands but can occur as high as

elevation (Parque Nacional Azul Meambar,
<collectingCountry id="F37E2EADB928B509FCF4FF49FC21FF05" box="[879,993,223,247]" name="Honduras" pageId="19" pageNumber="20">Honduras</collectingCountry>
). The northern limit appears to be just across the Motagua fault in southeastern
<collectingCountry id="F37E2EADB928B509FDFFFE92FD21FEEE" box="[612,737,260,284]" name="Guatemala" pageId="19" pageNumber="20">Guatemala</collectingCountry>
. It is widespread in wet forests of
<collectingCountry id="F37E2EADB928B509FBFBFE92FB0DFEEE" box="[1120,1229,260,284]" name="Honduras" pageId="19" pageNumber="20">Honduras</collectingCountry>
and
<collectingCountry id="F37E2EADB928B509FA98FE92FABAFEEE" box="[1283,1402,260,284]" name="Nicaragua" pageId="19" pageNumber="20">Nicaragua</collectingCountry>
. In
<collectingCountry id="F37E2EADB928B509FF02FEB1FED7FECD" box="[153,279,295,319]" name="Costa Rica" pageId="19" pageNumber="20">Costa Rica</collectingCountry>
it occurs on both lowland Atlantic and southern Pacific slopes, but only to

elevation. When present it is always a low-density element of the fauna, occurring in 110% of miniWinkler samples, and usually as one or two individuals per sample.

In the northern part of its range

locality is available in museums, and multiple specimens exist from the same miniWinkler sample.
