A specimen of this genus, lacking head and thorax, was found by R. L. Usinger

on Mt. Alifan; its reddish brown elytra measure

. in length. It is very different from the Polynesian

. The Mt. Alifan insect appears similar to

Van Zwaluwenburg from
<collectingCountry box="[509,607,2009,2053]" name="Palau" pageId="0" pageNumber="53">Palau</collectingCountry>
and the Carolines, and to
<emphasis box="[1095,1328,2009,2053]" italics="true" pageId="0" pageNumber="53">S. palauensis</emphasis>
Van Zwaluwenburg from

; like them, it bears a resemblance to some of the Philippine species of the genus. Its occurrence in the mountain forest suggests that it is native to
