This species is found from Newfoundland to western Ontario, south to northwestern Arkansas, southern Mississippi, and northern Georgia, west to eastern Kansas and Nebraska [see Noonan 1996: Fig. 245]. Seven specimens labeled from

southwestern Saskatchewan, and southeastern Alberta are also known (Noonan 1996: 135-138). Several specimens were recently caught in the southern Similkameen Valley in British Columbia (Smith et al. 2004: 96) suggesting that the range of the species extends farther west or that the species was introduced in the area; a misidentification is also possible.
