(Fig. 1). The incomplete genetic data available is probably the cause behind the lack of significant support for some of these taxa. Morphologically,
<taxonomicName lsidName="A. piptatheri" pageId="0" pageNumber="15" rank="species" species="piptatheri">A. piptatheri</taxonomicName>
differs from
<taxonomicName lsidName="A. marii" pageId="0" pageNumber="15" rank="species" species="marii">A. marii</taxonomicName>
because of its sympodial, branched conidiogenous cells.
<taxonomicName class="Sordariomycetes" family="Apiosporaceae" genus="Arthrinium" higherTaxonomySource="CoL" kingdom="Fungi" lsidName="Arthrinium guizhouense" order="Xylariales" pageId="0" pageNumber="15" phylum="Ascomycota" rank="species" species="guizhouense">Arthrinium guizhouense</taxonomicName>
has shorter conidiogenous cells (3.5-8.0
<normalizedToken originalValue="μm">μm</normalizedToken>
). Finally, some sequences of
<taxonomicName lsidName="Ap. montagnei" pageId="0" pageNumber="15" rank="species" species="montagnei">Ap. montagnei</taxonomicName>
are related also with this group (Fig. 2), but this species is considered the sexual morph of
<taxonomicName lsidName="A. arundinis" pageId="0" pageNumber="15" rank="species" species="arundinis">A. arundinis</taxonomicName>
, with a very different genetic profile in
