Most records come from the forests of the coastal plains of the states of Paraná and Santa Catarina,

, with some specimens collected in the nearby interior highland forests of the same states. There is an additional record from Rio de Janeiro, but this record needs further confirmation since the specimen belongs to the Gagarin ex-collection, in which there is frequent mislabeling of specimens.
