The species is distinguished by the pronotum appearing basic (type 2) when viewed dorsally, anterior margin serrate; declivital surface shagreened, dull, opaque; declivital interstriae granulate, granules multiseriate, confused; declivity setose, interstriae moderately covered with semi-recumbent hair-like setae, approximately as long as the width of an interstria; and circumdeclivital carina margin setose, setae long, erect, bristle-like.
