from Lages do Pico, Pico Island. All specimens were mounted in Hoyers medium.

Body length of 130218 μm. The comparison with

<emphasis id="B9503456FD3CE1531BC40FB6FB080E85" box="[991,1177,152,177]" italics="true" pageId="5" pageNumber="42">M. gumersindoi</emphasis>
</taxonomicName>
showed that the specimens from the Azores are very similar in morphological and morphometric characters and should be attributed to this species.

Up till now the species appeared to have a rather restricted distribution, recorded only in
<collectingCountry id="F333A8D4FD3CE153188C0E16FF4B0F66" box="[151,218,312,338]" name="Spain" pageId="5" pageNumber="42">Spain</collectingCountry>
and Canary Islands. This is the first record of this species on Azores Islands.
