: width across genae 310315 μm; head length 285305 μm. Median crest (mc) represented only by a lightly sclerotised median ridge with no striations or reticulations. Postoccipital ridge (por) well developed, broadening laterally, anterior arms rather parallel and close together but posterior arms widening, each posterior arm with 0 or 1 hs; with 58 pairs of hs dorsal head setae (dhs); minute simple pores present in a group of 58 on either side of dorsal arm of mid-cranial ridge. Mid-cranial ridge: dorsal ridge (dmcr) poorly developed, barely extending onto dorsal surface; ventral ridge (vmcr) represented by a pair of distinct lateral arms (lmcr), and median ridge extending posteriorly to ocular sclerite ventrally; with 35 pairs of hs ventral mid-cranial ridge setae (vmcrs) on either side anterior to occipital sclerite. Genae (g) not reticulated but each with 2 hs genal setae (gs) laterad to postoccipital ridge. Eyes: with two pairs of large, round, rather protruding simple eyes, dorsal eyes (dse) larger, each 100112 μm wide, ventral eyes (vse) 90104 μm wide. Ocelli (o) apparently absent. Ocular sclerite (ocs) with feint concentric striations or ridges around and between each eye. Preocular ridge (procr) short, only extending part way to mid-cranial ridge. Postocular ridge (pocr) strongly developed ventrally and extending dorsally to level with dorsal simple eyes. Dorsal ocular setae absent. Ventral head setae (vhs) 1 pair hs. Preoral ridge (pror) absent. Cranial apophysis (ca) faint but bifurcated.

Segments IIIIX all more or less parallel-sided, 3545 μm wide; fs long and strong, each 4560 μm long; hs all similar, each 2540 μm long; lengths of segments (μm): III 125140; IV 190200; V 135160: VI 170225, VII 160200, VIII 90105, IX 90130; approximate number of setae and sensilla per segment: III 1012 fs + 1 hs, IV 816 fs + 28 hs, VVII 1119 fs + 613 hs; VIII 611 fs, 29 hs +1 antennal bristle (ab); IX 8 fs, 8 hs + 1 ab. Segment X with 0 fs, 57 hs + 2 large and 2 shorter ab; capitate setae entirely absent.

Scutellum (scl) 200210 μm wide, 85105 μm long; with a strong in- verted U-shaped scutellar ridge (sclr), not tubular but with a large foramen; with 1 pair of scutellar setae (scls); posterior notal wing process (pnp) quite long, diagonal and heavily sclerotised. Aedeagus (aed) quite long, broad anteriorly (40 μm wide), then tapering to a quite broad apex; length 185190 μm. Basal sclerotisation (bra) very short.
