The sex ratio for our sample is extremely skewed towards females. We have no answer for this. Lucia Fanini (pers comm) suggested that since it is a one-off collecting event, it is possible even though there is a huge sex bias. It could be related to reproductive strategy or differential zonation of the species. In these cases if multiple sampling events were carried out during the year and systematically across the littoral, then the overall sex ratio should be more even.
