Hindfeet are short and broad, and fifth digit is opposable. Females have four pairs of nipples. Incisors are orthodont. Chromosomal complement varies geographically: 2n = 46, FN = 70-72 in DR Congo and 2n = 48, FN = 86 in Burundi.
