NE of the capital Monrovia. The presence of the new species on this isolated mountain is puzzling.

The species is named after Prof. Dr. Rolf Garms, who died on

at the age of 89. Dr. Garms was foremost amongst experts on blackfly biology and on the transmission and control of onchocerciasis, but was interested in all insects and provided extensive material, especially collected in Western Africa to the
