. At this site, numerous plants occurred that were

in spine, leaf, and branching morphology between these two species. During the present study no hybrids involving

and
<taxonomicName class="Magnoliopsida" family="Fabaceae" genus="Acacia" kingdom="Plantae" order="Fabales" pageId="18" pageNumber="135" phylum="Tracheophyta" rank="species" species="macracantha">A. macracantha</taxonomicName>
were found; however, on a recent trip to Temascal (
<date pageId="18" pageNumber="135" value="1991-05">May 1991</date>
) the authors collected hybrid specimens of
<taxonomicName class="Magnoliopsida" family="Fabaceae" genus="Acacia" kingdom="Plantae" order="Fabales" pageId="18" pageNumber="135" phylum="Tracheophyta" rank="species" species="chiapensis × pennatula">A. chiapensis x A. pennatula</taxonomicName>
. Both parents were common in the pasture where the hybrid was collected and, except for
<taxonomicName class="Magnoliopsida" family="Fabaceae" genus="Acacia" kingdom="Plantae" order="Fabales" pageId="18" pageNumber="135" phylum="Tracheophyta" rank="species" species="cornigera">A. cornigera</taxonomicName>
, were the only acacias in the area.
