is the only other mimallonid genus besides
<taxonomicName class="Insecta" family="Mimallonidae" genus="Adalgisa" higherTaxonomySource="CoL" kingdom="Animalia" lsidName="Adalgisa" order="Lepidoptera" pageId="15" pageNumber="16" phylum="Arthropoda" rank="genus">Adalgisa</taxonomicName>
which has irregularly scattered hyaline patches on all wings. However,
<taxonomicName class="Insecta" family="Mimallonidae" genus="Arianula" higherTaxonomySource="GBIF" kingdom="Animalia" lsidName="Arianula" order="Lepidoptera" pageId="15" pageNumber="16" phylum="Arthropoda" rank="genus">Arianula</taxonomicName>
is easily recognized by the alternate configuration of these hyaline patches, such that there are fewer patches on the forewing than in
<taxonomicName class="Insecta" family="Mimallonidae" genus="Adalgisa" higherTaxonomySource="CoL" kingdom="Animalia" lsidName="Adalgisa" order="Lepidoptera" pageId="15" pageNumber="16" phylum="Arthropoda" rank="genus">Adalgisa</taxonomicName>
, with the most apparent patch being between Rs4 and M1 (conversely in

<paragraph pageId="15" pageNumber="16">(1) Bizarre claw-like valvae each similar in size to the tegumen + uncus, giving the overall genitalia a triangular appearance (Fig. 17a); (2) Phallus weakly sclerotized, tube-like (Fig. 17b), with elongated narrow juxtal process dorsal to phallus, which itself terminates in a multi-pronged, spined upward curved claw.</paragraph>
