). The low number of specimens we encountered is in agreement with the very few numbers of specimens available in museums. The species is likely very rare and patchily distributed across its range. Contrary to the morphological and molecular homogeneity of this species, we see a clear difference in habitat preference between the Scandinavian populations restricted to bogs and Altaian populations confined to the banks of mountain creeks at higher altitudes.
