The Mukwadzi River is a perennial river that originates from wetlands (dambos) on the eastern side of the Great Dyke. This river flows in a north-western direction cutting through the Great Dyke before it joins the Manyame River. The Great Dyke is a major intrusion of mafic and ultramafic rocks that have vast ore deposits, including gold, silver, chromium, platinum, nickel, and asbestos. The rich mineral deposits have resulted in the establishment of many mines along the Great Dyke. The sites where
