<paragraph pageId="2" pageNumber="3">Body, including head and foot, loricate; head retractile, foot non-retractile, consisting of a short basal, squarish and an elongate, cylindrical foot pseudosegment terminating in two equal toes. Anal segment strongly reduced. Trunk lorica ventrally relatively flat, dorsally with a Y-shaped keel, pustulated, rounded elliptical.</paragraph>

only. The unique foot structure of the two species, however, can be considered synapomorphic and is superficially and probably functionally similar to the foot consisting of a single short foot pseudosegment and elongated, fused toes bearing terminal (pseudo)claws of some
<taxonomicName class="Eurotatoria" family="Lecanidae" genus="Lecane" higherTaxonomySource="CoL" kingdom="Animalia" lsidName="Lecane" order="Ploima" pageId="3" pageNumber="4" phylum="Rotifera" rank="genus">Lecane</taxonomicName>
