. Adult male of the new species may be separated from other members of the genus by scattered pigment granules on tergites and gonocoxite, Wing length

, short palpomere II with several roughly biserial pale long setae, hind tibial comb with 8 setae and hind tarsomere without pseudospur. Adult female of the new species may be separated from other female member of the genus by almost rounded seminal capsules, arch shaped notum and ratio SCa/No 0.540.57. Pupa is distinct in having a large plastron plate occupying 3541 horn length, ThR 4.605.12, sub equal and simple Dc1 and Dc2, D4 setae on tergites IVVI placed more middistally, 4 LS setae on segment VII, 5 LS setae on segment VII and equal length of Genital sac and Anal lobe. The larvae are distinctive by brickred spots on lateral side of each segment, cephalic index 0.530.56, dark brown and rounded small claw on posterior parapod with 3 inner teeth and VP of ventral cephalic head capsule small.

. The species has been named after the small hamlet Mongpu, near Darjeeling town where it was collected. Literally, Mongpu means transition to immortality (in Buddhism).

Acrostichals 2022, biserial between the vittae and 68 at scutellar end, dorsocentrals 1921, uniserial in middle and multiserial distally; prealars 78; scutellars 1011, postnotum bare.
