The genus

is well delimited from all other genera of the Megasternini and may be easily recognized by the combination of the following characters: i) presence of two short mesal ridges on the anteromedian part of the metaventrite (unique character), ii) antennae with groups of peg-like sensilla on ventral surface of antennomeres 78 (unique character), iii) presence of shallow depressions on the ventral surface of the profemora, iv) the shape of the median portion of the prosternum, v) antennal grooves not reaching the lateral margins of the hypomeron, and vi) abdominal ventrites 25 bare in contrast to ventrite 1. Characteristic is also the colouration of elytra, in which
