carapace length) with a stocky carapace shape, highly arched dorsal margin, and posteriorly very strongly widened carapace (dorsal view!). On the posterior field of both valves is a strong callus, which runs diagonally from the upper anterior to the lower posterior, which towards the posterior at the top is placed distinctly concavely against the valve arch. A similar more rounded and significantly weaker thickening occasionally on the anterior margin of the right valve.
