Caatinga endemic species. Known from only two records, in the states of Bahia and Minas Gerais. It is distributed in areas with between 553 and

elevation. Inhabits bushy and herbaceous caatinga with bromeliads and clumps of grasses on sandy soils (

), along the São Francisco sandy dunes. It also occurs in cerrado

with sandy soils, dissected by veredas and riparian forests (Fernandes
