Labrum very large, as wide as long, anterior margin distinctly emarginated in the middle, with a row of 6 marginal setae. Maxillary palpomere 4 flattened, short, inflexed medially and internal surface with distinct, deep puncture; roundly expanded from basal one third, roundly narrowed at apex. Mentum with bifid median tooth. Ligula elongate, setose with four elongated apical setae, three lateral seta on either side; distinctly broader in the middle.

Large and slightly wider than head; less densely pubescent and sparsely punctate on disc; apical angles protruded, expanded, flexed inwardly, more rounded and slightly acute on summit; anterior and posterior transverse sulci shallow; lateral margins widely explanate, distinctly sinuated anterior to posterior angles or at some distance from base; posterior angles expanded, reflexed strongly and sharp at apex; basal foveae deep and wide, stretching forward as deep lateral furrows; base narrower than apex, distinctly oblique laterally, weakly sinuated medially.
