Head—body 33-35 cm (males) and 34-39 cm (females), tail 64— 72 cm (males) and 66-84 cm (females); weight 4.9-7.2 kg (males) and 5.1-8.5 kg (females). Upperparts of the Black Sumatran Langur are dark gray-brown to nearly black, including dorsal surface of tail. Hands, feet, and outer limbs are black; throat, underparts, underside oftail, and inner surfaces of limbs as far as wrists and ankles are white, sharply set off from dark color of upperparts. Crest is gray to dark brown, and sometimes indistinctly formed. Facial skin is mostly bluish, flesh colored around the mouth, but lips are black.
