This species was described by Jacobson (1893) from the middle part of Zerafshan river valley in present day
<collectingCountry id="FAC50DFBD862FFD31F74F926C296F88E" name="Uzbekistan" pageId="5" pageNumber="290">Uzbekistan</collectingCountry>
and is the only endemic species to Central (Middle) Asia, while Chinese endemics refer to Eastern Asia.
