This species was described from females, males, pupae and larvae collected in Peninsular Malaysia (Takaoka and Davies, 1995). It is similar to

but is distinguished from the latter species in the female by abdominal segments 2 and 58 shiny, in the male by the ventral plate moderately produced ventrally, in the pupa by the gill filaments arranged as (3+3)+2 from dorsal to ventral, and terminal hooks widened, and in the larva by the absence of dorsal protuberances on the abdomen.

). Females and males reared from pupae collected in

show that the female tibiae of the mid and hind legs each bear a small subbasal dark spot, the tergite of female abdominal segment 5 is shiny, and the male antenna shows the same color pattern as that of the female antenna, which is darkened on flagellomeres 3 and 58 and yellow on the other flagellomers. The shiny tergite of abdominal segment 5 was confirmed when the
