, all too poorly preserved for description. Here we report on the occurrence of

in southern

, the northernmost distribution of this species. Based on the Swedish specimens, Mamaevs (1998) male description is supplemented here, as follows. The postfrons is setose; 6̄7 postocular bristles form a single sparse row; flagellomeres (

), which number 15 to 17, have necks and nodes of equal length, sensory hairs arranged in 1 complete and 2̄3 incomplete whorls, with the crenulation somewhat degenerated, and both simple and two-branched hair-shaped translucent sensilla; the palpus may consist of 3 or 4 segments; R1 is up to 3 times longer than Rs; claws are bent at right angles, with 2 fine teeth at the bend; empodia are vestigial; the ninth tergite has a weak, deeply concave anterior margin; the short gonocoxae have a wide ventral emargination and a wide, broadly rounded dorsal bridge; the elongate gonostylus is slightly flattened, tapered towards the apex, and equipped with an inconspicuous tooth of fingernail-shape; the tegmen, which is membranous rather than sclerotized (and thus easily distorted in slide-mounts), bears 8̄9 pairs of short finger-like processes, the latter tending to point towards the head end; the subanal plate is membranous (its outline thus variable), with a pale, irregular scale-pattern; and the cerci are covered with conspicuously large microtrichia (see
